higher law

Victor Lemonte Wooten

If I was your leader I would do my best
to keep that residue off my chest
I would gather my congress. I wouldn't hesitate
'Cause there's a new law and it ain't up for debate

The good book says, as far as I can tell
everybody's going to heaven or
Help me find out Lord,
gotta find a better way

There's a higher law we need to turn to and there's no more time to waste
We need to sit right down in the middle of the floor
instead of running all over the place
Open up your mind, it's time. We gotta leave those fears behind
There's not much time at all y'all, 'cause there's a higher law

Just like a magician, make me believe
that U ain't got nothin' hidden up your sleeve
Then U kill my brother 'cause U don't agree
It may make sense to U but it don't to me

I say going to church may be a start
But the good book is written in your heart
Don't U wait for tomorrow
It's best U start today

There's a higher law we need to turn to and there's no more time to waste
We need to sit right down in the middle of the floor
instead of running all over the place
Open up your mind, it's time. We gotta leave those fears behind
There's not much time at all y'all, 'cause there's a higher law

There's a new sun rising, coming over the hill
Ain't no use running U'd be better off standing still
And don't keep acting like we got to kill
'Cause it's time to go higher, higher, higher
There's a higher law

A higher law we need to turn to, or we may have to burn thru
Unless we choose to learn through, through from our mistakes
'Cause that's sho'nuff what it takes to reach the higher ground
To go from lost to found, so when the end times come
We'll still be around
Just like the song says, I'm talkin' 'bout a higher law
not the judge in city hall
Take off your watch 'cause the time is right now.
U Ain't Listenin' Anyhow!

There's a higher law we need to turn to and there's no more time to waste
We need to sit right down in the middle of the floor
instead of running all over the place
Open up your mind, it's time. We gotta leave those fears behind
There's not much time at all y'all, 'cause there's a higher law
