saturday morning in the city

Brian Wilson

Saturday morning in the city
Oh yes it's Saturday morning in the city
The parking lot of the market looks so crowded
And when we get all done our little shopping cart is loaded

Saturday morning in the city
Oh yes it's Saturday morning in the city
I see some young people washin' down their cars
They're headin' down to the matinee to see their movie stars

Somewhere in town the bells are ringin'
Way up in the trees the birds are singin'
"Watchya wanna do today?"

Saturday morning in the city
Oh yes it's Saturday morning in the city
No work for us until next Monday
It's time to rise and shine
We're gonna have a fun day

Saturday morning in the city
Oh yes it's Saturday morning in the city
Next door they're havin' a garage sale

Rover is barkin' now "OK here's the mail!"
Paper is here, the coffee's brewin'
Phone rings "Good mornin'! How ya doin'?
Watchya wanna do today?"

Saturday morning in the city
Saturday morning in the city
If we just lie there
We'll miss the whole day
So c'mon honey, let's get away

Boys and girls are out and about (get out of bed)
Listen to them run and shout (you sleepy head)
They're so happy school is out
'Cept the kid with the paper route

Saturday morning in the city
Oh yes it's Saturday morning in the city
The smell of barbecue blows all over town
Hey neighbor grab a chair
And sit yourself right down
So glad I got you out of bed now
Weekends are so good for your head now
Watchya wanna do-oh-do today?
