This incident was an invitation to a new beginning
I must admit defeat and submit to the truth that is here
The darkness has stricken me with fear

I ve been slipping
This time I finally fell
I m defying the rails on the stairway to hell
There are problems and then there s rock bottom
I think I ve finally made my entrance
I need to snap out of this trance
And pray for a chance
Suffering will gain me sight

Teach me to see in the night

I ve been torched too many times
So when the sun fades into the night
My fears start to rise
I ve turned away too many times
When the shadows come to life
I ll look them square in the eyes

How do I recognize if I m fine or terrified?
Now I realize everything that always lead to my demise

Reality has brought me here
And from these actions I will rise from the ashes

I gave terror a face but now it s filled with fractures
The proof is on my fist that is covered in cracks
My nemesis no longer has a grasp on me
